Tango à la Piazzolla

Bandoneon, Klavier, Gitarre, Violine und Kontrabass: So sah das erste Quintett aus, das Astor Piazzolla 1960 begründete. Nach dem Tod des Begründers des Tango Nuevo rief seine Tochter Laura Escalada Piazzolla eine Stiftung ins Leben, um sein künstlerisches Erbe zu bewahren. In Folge formierte sich das Quinteto Astor Piazzolla, das Zugriff auf den gesamten Nachlass des verstorbenen Komponisten hat, der den Tango revolutionierte.


Preisgekröntes Quintett

Seitdem tourt es um die Welt und begeistert mit seinem unnachahmlichen Stil internationale Presse sowie Publikum, u. a. beim Montreux Jazz Festival. Zweimal gewann es bereits einen Latin Grammy. Nun ist das Quinteto Astor Piazzolla erstmals im Wiener Konzerthaus zu hören, wo es das neue Album »Oblivion« präsentiert. Dabei erklingen auch einige unbekanntere Stücke, die das Publikum so noch nie zu hören bekommen hat.
